Testimonials
Route: /org/ecom/testimonials · Permission: Browse & View Testimonials records
Module: org_ecom_testimonials — 6 permissions
1. What a testimonial is
A customer's words, shown on the storefront only once someone approves them. Two permissions make this module unusual: you can request one, and you must publish it.
| Permission | Gates |
|---|---|
| Browse & View Testimonials records | The list |
| Menu Listing of Testimonials | The sidebar entry |
| Request for testimonials | Asking a customer for one |
| Publish testimonials | Making it public |
| Edit existing Testimonials records | Editing |
| Delete Existing Testimonials records | Deleting |
2. How one reaches the storefront
Nothing is public until it is published
Collection and publication are separate steps with separate permissions. A testimonial can sit collected and invisible indefinitely — which is the safe default, and a common source of "the customer says they wrote one".
3. The screen
Requests can also be raised from an order, where the reviewer knows what the customer bought.
4. The admin contract
| Prerequisite | Without it |
|---|---|
| Request for testimonials | Customers cannot be asked |
| Publish testimonials | Nothing becomes public |
| A testimonial block on a page | Published testimonials are never shown |
| A working email channel | Requests do not reach customers |
5. Downstream
Published testimonials render in storefront testimonial blocks on public pages.
6. Don't confuse this with…
| Thing | Where |
|---|---|
| Testimonial (this page) | Curated, published deliberately |
| Product review | Attached to a product |
| CSAT | Service-desk satisfaction, a different module |
7. Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Cause |
|---|---|
| A testimonial is not on the storefront | Not published, or no block renders it |
| Cannot request one | Missing Request for testimonials |
| The customer never got the request | The email channel is not configured |
