Preview Mode

Mode tab: Preview. Requires the same builder permission as Builder mode.

Preview renders your draft the way the page renderer will, so you can read the page as a visitor instead of as a stack of blocks.

What is on screen​

The preview is rendered in a fixed light theme regardless of whether you are running the admin panel in dark mode, so what you judge is the visitor's page and not your own theme.

Fullscreen hands the preview the whole window; the inline area is replaced by a note with an Exit fullscreen link.

What this preview is not​

There is no device-frame switcher

Preview renders at the width of your browser window. There are no Desktop / Tablet / Mobile frame buttons in this mode, and no 375px phone view.

To check responsive behaviour, either resize your browser window, or open the Public Page link and use your browser's own device tools. Per-block responsive rules are set in the inspector's Visibility control — Always, Hide mobile, Hide desktop — and those do take effect here when you resize.

It is the draft, and it is untranslated
  • Draft, not live. What you see may not be public. Check the status pill in the action header — Draft, Live or Needs Re-Publish.
  • English strings. Translated copy and the real storefront styling only appear on the public page. Follow the Public Page link for those.

For a product detail page with no publishable product yet, the banner adds "add at least one publishable product to preview a real URL" — until then there is no public URL to link to.
